HELLO!!
The *Femmes Friquees*, a girls' tale.

If Betty Boop was part of the post-modern generation, she would be a Femme Friquee without a doubt. She would wiggle her delicate figure alongside Desiree van Booty, Cook Robin, Betty Pas Sage or Stiletto Kitten. She would sing ribald tunes crossed with electro punk and quiver in titty twisters, hidden behind a catlike mask.
Borne out of the imagination of Virginie Morillo and Sidney Stucki (twentysomething records under his belt, chiefly released on the Mental Groove and Villa Magica labels), the idea of a girl band comprised of contemporary artists and their friends slowly matured into a collective drawn together by burlesque-inspired esthetics.
Topping the bill is -precisely- Bill Barnacle the bloodied dandy, wielding his conductor's baton. Centerstage, Desiree van Booty posing as a B-series japanese vamp, Cook Robin, glamour rapper, Betty Pas Sage, lurid cabaret pin-up, Stiletto Kitten the disingenuous catwoman, Lola Tits the sex toy with a crystal-clear voice and the intriguing, sprightly Pandora : each reveals a facet of the Femmes Friquees' universe that can be experienced within the group's creations. Fom J-punk to stylish electro booty sounds and through a kitsch-heavy hijacking of cabaret culture, their musical palette is a defiantly eclectic, disjointed and especially extatic one.

To be enjoyed irresponsibly: The Femmes Friquees punctured stiletto holes through the rock scene (at Geneva's l'Usine in February 2006 and at the For Noise festival in Pully, in August)  while rejoicing Geneva clubbers at the Overground festival, also in August. The contemporary art scene sees them performing during the Villa Magica Xmas label parties, whether upcoming at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, in December 2006, or past (Centre d'Art Contemporain, Geneva in December 2005) or during  the 2006 edition of Fri-Art in Fribourg. Since the April 2006 Femmes Friquees showcase at Cabaret Bourg in Lausanne, VJ Mathias Grau of the Modul8 laboratory has brought sharp live visuals to the proceedings.

The "Femmes Friquees Recompensent Bons Coups" album produced by Villa Magica will be out the 26 of march 2007.
